This Privacy Policy explains how Picho Films, LLC, doing business as Darvalife ("Darvalife," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit darva.life (the "Site"), contact us, or hire us for photography and video production services.

By using the Site or our services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and inquiry details — your name, email address, how you heard about us, the type of project, and any details you share in the contact form or by email, phone, or social media.
  • Client and booking information — for booked projects, information such as billing name, phone number, mailing or event address, event dates and locations, and details needed to plan and deliver your project.
  • Payment information — if you pay online, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe or Squarespace Commerce). We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our website platform (Squarespace) and related services may automatically collect standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

Photos and video of you

When we photograph or film you at an event, shoot, or production, those images and recordings are created as part of the services we are hired to provide. Their use is governed by our client agreement and any model or location release you sign, together with this policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide quotes
  • Plan, schedule, produce, and deliver photo and video projects
  • Send invoices, process payments, and keep business records
  • Communicate with you about your project, including delivery of galleries or files
  • Improve the Site and understand how visitors use it
  • Protect the Site from spam and abuse (for example, through Google reCAPTCHA)
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

Portfolio use: With your permission, as set out in your client agreement or release, we may feature selected images or video from your project in our portfolio, website, social media, or marketing. If you would prefer that your project not be shared publicly, just tell us and we will respect that.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run our business and deliver our services, including with:

  • Service providers that host the Site, process payments, deliver email, store or deliver files, or provide spam protection (for example, Squarespace, Stripe, and Google).
  • Collaborators such as second shooters, editors, or production crew working on your project, who receive only what they need to do their job.
  • Legal and safety purposes — if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Darvalife, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers — if our business is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site uses or links to third-party services, including:

  • Squarespace — website hosting, forms, and commerce
  • Google reCAPTCHA — spam protection on forms (subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service)
  • Google Maps — embedded maps
  • YouTube, Vimeo, or similar — embedded video
  • Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn — links to our social profiles

These services may collect information according to their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites or services.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Squarespace and the third-party services above use cookies that are necessary for the Site to function (for example, security and shopping cart cookies) and, where enabled, cookies that help us understand Site traffic.

6. How Long We Keep Information

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and follow up. We keep client records, contracts, and invoices for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. We may keep archived project files for a reasonable period so we can help with re-delivery requests; archive periods may be described in your client agreement.

7. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep for legal or contractual reasons
  • Opt out of any marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us
  • Ask us not to feature your project in our portfolio or marketing

Depending on where you live (for example, Virginia, California, or other U.S. states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights under applicable law. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We will respond within the time required by law and may need to verify your identity first.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Images of minors captured during client events are handled under the client's agreement and parent or guardian consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Please check back periodically.
